Survey results:

6th grade teachers used the survey data to focus on graphic organizers. The survey results revealed that teachers felt they were strong in the area of teaching and modeling the use of graphic organizers as study tools, yet the students reported that they could use more help in this area. They decided to continue to model the use of graphic organizers and expose the students to various models. Rather than providing the graphic organizers for students to fill out, however, they began to ask students to create their own organizers to review for unit tests. In the example below, a learning lab student has broken down the study guide into sections, created a study plan, and completed each section over the course of 6 days.
